What is the meaning of going to college? Is going to college worth it? Should a college education be free or should it not? Many high school students are constantly replaying this question in their minds as they approach graduation, and when undergoing the process of making a decision on their future college attendance, the decision is usually based off of many different factors; the greatest one being if one will be able to afford the tuition of the college of his or her choosing. In the article â€Å"Tennessee is showing how free community college works† (The supportive party) Celeste Carruthers elaborates on the â€Å"Tennessee promise†, which ensures â€Å"Free tuition for high school graduates of any income and any aptitude† (!). On the opposing side, Andrew P. Kelly wrote â€Å"The Problem Is That Free College Isn’t Free†. Kelly explicates on how free college is a good idea with good intentions; however, it is truly a hoax, which will do more harm than any good for taxpayer’s and students.
